I've been writing since I was 14. That’s 25 years. Two and half decades. That’s a quarter century. That’s Shawn Mendes. That’s half Kate Beckinsale.

In that time I've seen my work in a few anthologies and online magazines. I’ve also had a couple of short films and plays produced some of which have done well. I completed a master’s in creative writing and pulled together some lovely scripts in that. I was shortlisted for a big BBC competition but didn't quite make it over the line.

See the pattern? Lots of mini successes. Lots of almost. I’m not complaining.  

It's been great fun and I've learned loads, but the one thing that still eludes me is GETTING SOME MONEY IN! I’d love a book deal and get to see something published under my own name. But it’s difficult to do that.

So, it's about time I did something about it.

This blog (which has also been running for quite a long time in various forms) chronicles my efforts as I enter the second half of my life.

It’s NOT A MID-LIFE CRISIS.

But it’s not all self-serving narcissism.

I’ll also use my revitalised blog to share poems and stories with people who might be interested.

So whether you’re a writer taking the same journey as me, or someone who likes reading cool stories, I hope you'll join me in this journey. I'm sure it will be frustrating and difficult, but I’m hoping it will be a lot of fun as well.
